October 09

The Spruce Meadows Harvest Classic brings to an end the show season for Wachter Horses. Beda and his students competed in this show and all achieved their goals they had set for the year. Beda and WH Carthago Sun III placed first in the Calfrac 1.3m Cup and third in the Pason 1.4m Cup. On Sunday Beda and WH Carthago Sun III won the RPF 1.4m Grand Prix.

 

New Lesson Program

Wachter Horses is excited to announce a new program starting in Oct. 09. Beda's assistant Lyle Peterman will be offering lessons to anyone intrested in learning to ride. Lyle was 9 months in Germay where he gained valuble experiance in riding and teaching.

Horses and tack will be supplied. The lessons will be geared for all ages and will include adults as well.

August 2009

Beda, Nadine and 5 students competed for 3 weeks in August at Paramount and Anderson Horse Shows. Wachter Horses was well represented in a variety of classes. The hard work put in by everyone was reflected in the amount of ribbons won at these shows. Nadine and Cascarina were Champion in the 1.15m division ahead of her dad with Special Agent Sunset who brought home the reserve champion ribbon. Calidostar was the Champion from the 1.2m Division.

The Show season has been very successful for Wachter Horses. The hours the students spent taking lessons and riding their horses was very evident in the show ring.

JULY 09

Wachter Horses travelled with 12 Horses to the Oregon High Dessert Classic in Bend Oregon. From July 14 untill July 26 Beda and 6 of his students competed from 0.85m up to 1.45m classes for ribbons. The show was a great success for everybody as they brought home 15 first place ribbons and over 80 ribbons in total.

Beda and his students are now preparing for 3 shows in Calgary which will be held in August.

MAY 09

From May 20 to May 31 Wachter Horses took part in the Thunderbird Show in Langley BC. Beda showed in the 1.15m, 1.20m,1.30m and 1.40m classes. WH Special Agent Sunset and WH Symphonie showed well in the 1.20m classes. WH Symphonie was the Reserve Champion for the second week. Calidostar was first in 3 classes in the 1.15m division. He was Champion in this division. He moved up to the 1.20m division and placed well in this division. WH Carthago Sun III competed in the 1.30m classes and placed well and won two of the 1.40m classes.

Beda also took Alexis and Montana Reimer to their first A show at Thunderbird. The girls placed well in the 0.75m and 0.85m division both winning first place ribbons and moved up to the 0.90m classes competeing well in this division.

Nadine Wachter competed at the Anderson Ranch Show in May. She competed in four classes in the 1.1m division. Aboard WH Matador she won 3 classes and placed second in these same classes riding WH Cascarina.

April 09

Wachter Horses competed at the Spring Welcome Show held at Spruce Meadows. Nadine Wachter placed first in the 3'6" class aboard Cascarina. She then rode Matador in the same class and placed second. Beda had a successful show riding WH Symphonie placing 6th and 9th in the 4' class. Showing WH Special Agent Sunset he placed 5th in the 3'9" class. Aboard Calidostar he placed 7th and 8th in the 3'9" class. In the 4' class Beda rode Voilastar to a 4th place in the 4' division.

Beda and his students are now preparing for the Thunderbird Show in Langley BC. Beda will be taking some of his young horses to introduce them to the show ring.

The Wachters would like to extend a warm welcome to those new students who will be riding with Wachter Horses over the next months.

April brings the start of a very busy breeding/ foaling program at Wachter Horses. Jenny Wachter oversees this busy program.

There have been 4 embryo babies born so far. Exciting foals out of top mares like Kilexa have safely arrived.

Jenny is also kept busy overseeing the breeding of the mares and organizing the embryo transplant program.

March 09

Nadine Wachter was one of 6 Alberta riders chosen to compete in the Equus 09 Horse Show held in San Jose Costa Rica. Nadine traveled to Costa Rica with her mother to compete. Nadine placed first, second and fifth in the 0.9 m division.

Feb. 09

The first show of the season was the Spruce Meadows February Classic. Wachter Horses was well represented at this show. All of Beda's students had successful rounds. Calidostar and Beda Wachter were 1st and 2nd in the 1.15m, Paso Doble and Amanda Fordyce were 4th in the 1.15m, Elanna and Carmen Strabel were 6th in the 0.9m, Seira and Jennifer Main were 1st, 2nd and 4th in the 1.0m, Special Agent Sunset and Theo Muff were 6th in the 1.15m, Synphonie and Beda Wachter were 3rd in the 1.2m, Nadine Wachter and her two horses WH Cascarina and WH Matador placed in the top ten in every class.

During the month of February Wachter Horses was host to 2 international riders. Hendrick Gabel from Germany was here working with dressage riders. He had a very successful 3 day clinic. Theo Muff, a rider for the Swiss National Team was at Wachter Horses for 2 weeks. During his stay he worked with Beda's students. This opportunity gave Beda's students a chance to work on fine tuning what they had been taught.

 

Jan. 09

2009 has got off to a busy start at Wachter Horses.

Beda's Grand Prix horse WH Ciris has been sold to the USA. Her new owners have gone to 3 shows. The mare was Grand Champion in 2 shows and Reserve Champion in the 3rd show.

Wachter Horses welcomes two new riders Alexis and Montana Reimer to their team.

 

Sept. 08

Looking back at our outside season, we are really happy with the improvement and the accomplishments our horses and riders made this season. Wachter Horses competed in Bend Oregon, Spruce Meadows, Anderson Ranch, Northlands and Thunderbird in Langley, BC. Nadine Wachter and WH Matador showed for the first time in the Grand Prix Ring in Oregon and were able to bring home a first place, one second place. WH Ciris had her grand prix debut and WH Carthago Sun III was second the first week in the grand prix. Voilastar was champion in the 1.2m division the first week and reserve champion the second week. He also competed at the Masters where he was in the ribbons every day and was very competitive. Congratulations also to Kathy and Spindrift for completing in their first horseshow. Also congratulations to Lyle Petermann and Rigley for their win in the 1.1m and their placing's. We also wish Lyle good luck for his year in Germany where he will be riding and learning about teaching riding lessons.

May 2008

Northlands was a huge success for the Wachter Barn. WH Carthago Sun III competed in the 4'3"placing twice second and once fifth. WH-Ciris continued in the 4'6", and competed in the National Bank class and placed tenth.

Calidostar and Voilastar tied for Champion/Reserve Champion at Northlands. Congratulations to the owners Roy and Estella Graham.

Congratulations to Nadine Wachter who competed at Amberlee Meadows on WH-Matador in the 3'6" course.

Sabrina Wachter had a successful show at Amberlee Meadows aboard WH-Dolly. They competed in the 2'9" pony division and placed fifth.

Wachter Horses is proud to announce that another new young rider has joined their barn. Amanda Fordyce from Red Deer had a successful first show with Wachters at Northlands.

April 2008

WH-Laptop and WH-Luxury competed in the 2008 Free Jumping Challenge in Olds, Alberta. WH-Laptop was the 4-Year-Old Champion, scoring a 91, and WH-Luxury came in 4th, scoring a 84.

March 2008

Congratulations to Sabrina Wachter who competed in her first horse at Anderson Ranch in Calgary.

January 2008

Congratulations to Lane Clark and his mount David, that was purchased from Wachter Horses, who came in second at Hits Thermal Grand Prix in California!

August 2007

Beda Wachter Won the High Dessert Classic Grand Prix aboard WH Cascarina. The show held in Bend Oregon was a huge success for the barn. In the two weeks of competition Wachter Horses ended up with over 70 top six finishes. The barn also claimed four division championships.

April 2007

We would like to congratulate Nadine Wachter for competing at Anderson Ranch. She showed her pony in the 2"6" division and the 2"9" division. In her first 2"9" class she captured a fourth place finish. Nadine has started her jumping career with great success and she looks forward to becoming a regular competitor in the ring this year.

March 2007:

Congratulations to Gillian Stanley, Carmen Strabel, and Lyle Peterman for competing in the Rocky Mountain Show Jumping Series at Anderson Ranch in Calgary Alberta. These riders are seeing great results with their green horses. Good job guys.

Lyle Peterman, Carmen Strabel, and Jennalyn Murdoch all competed at the Spruce Meadows Spring Welcome. Lyle and Carmen both had great rounds on their green horses. Both showed that their mounts have a future in this sport. Jennalyn finished the week off with two jump off performances in the 1.10m division. Both times finishing in the top six.

July, 2006

We are preparing to leave for Bend, Oregon where we will be competing several horses including Rivelli from our sales page who will be in the 1.2m and 1.3m this year.

All of our mares are preg-checked and are happily enjoying the summer grass... to see who each mare was bred to please visit our breeding stock page.

We are happy to report that we bred over 100 horses on the farm this year in addition to foaling out over 40 mares. Thank-you to our clients who trust us with their mares year after year. Breeding season ends July 15th and the staff will enjoy a well deserved break from breeding duties.

February 2006 - Beda took the new stallions, Calidostar and Quickstar to the February Classic at Spruce Meadows where they both performed and behaved well in their first show.

Beda has returned from Indio and Arizona where he was preparing the horses for the summer circuit, Cascarina moved up to the 1.50m classes with great success and David moved to the Open division at 1.40-1.45m.

Preparation is fast and furious for the Stallion Showcase and we hope everyone will join us on march 4th for a wonderful evening...

October 2005 -   Beda Wachter won with Quintelli on the CW sale in olds the 3 Bar over a new record from 5,11

October 2005 - A t the October series at spruce meadows Beda was very successful with his horses Cascarina was at the 1.45m 1st .2nd and 3rd. With David in the 1.3m he was 3rd.

September 2005 - Carthago Sun III did his CWHBA stallion performance test in Olds and he won the jumping index and was reserve champion overall.

March 2005 - Thank-you to everyone that joined us at the 2005 Stallion Showcase, we were happy to host over 250 people and show off our facility, stallions and horses.

December 2004 - Wachter Horses is proud to announce that they will now be the exclusive North American Broker for selected stallions from the Boekmann Stallion station. Some of the top stallions we will be representing include dressage producer De Niro by Donnerhall as well as several excellent Contender sons.

Watch for Wachter Horses at the indoor shows at Spruce Meadows in February and March.

October 2004 - Beda Wachter and the 1998 Holsteiner gelding, Churchill, won the 3-bar competition held at the 2004 CWHBA sale in Olds. Churchill is available for purchase, please see our sales page for more details.

August 2004 - Wachter Horses is proud to announce that their stallion Carthago Sun III was awarded reserve champion of the CWHBA stallion licensing this year and got a first premium with a 9 in the jumping.. Watch for Carthago Sun III in the jumper ring in 2005!

July 2004 - Cascarina won the Oregon High Dessert Grand Prix in June and
